At Aberdare Pre-School, we are purposeful about achieving the objectives of the NQF which include child safety, health and wellbeing, and improved outcomes for children. We are guided by the principles of the NQF including that the safety, rights and best interests of the child are paramount. We work with all stakeholders to ensure that every child in our Education and Care feel safe, supported and valued.
We support the safety, participation, and agency of children attending our Preschool. We are committed to supporting the cultural safety of children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and provide a safe and inclusive environment for children with a disability.
Our Code of Conduct sets the standard of behaviour expected of Aberdare Pre-School’s staff members. Our Code of Conduct requires all staff to be familiar with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and comply with Aberdare Pre-School’s Child Safe and Child Protection policies.
We are a Community based, not for profit service and operate during School Terms. We have a current Rating of Meeting the National Quality Standards.
We currently have casual shifts available, due to Service changes. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Cert III Educators or Diploma Educators or ECT Educators to join our Team. Casual positions will be considered for other fixed term or permanent work that may become available in the future.
Applicants must have:
- A positive attitude
- Be a good Team worker
- Be reliable and energetic
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High level of initiative and commitment to ongoing learning
- Sound knowledge of the EYLF EYLF V2.0
- Certificate III, Diploma or Early Childhood Degree (ECT) in Children’s Services
- Current First Aid Cert - incl Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Current Working With Children Check
- Knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and a Commitment to Child Safety
- Police Check – less than 12 months old
Preferred skills include:
- Experience in an Early Childhood setting
- Experience documenting children’s learning, planning and implementing group times.
- Experience working with Additional Needs children or willing to learn.
