About Us

Maroubra Junction Early Education Centre (MJEEC) is a privately owned, director-led long day care and preschool located in the heart of Maroubra. We care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years and pride ourselves on a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, seen and celebrated every day.

Our centre operates Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm. We hold ourselves to high professional standards and are proud of the genuine relationships we build with children, families and each other.

The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our team in a part-time float capacity. This role is essential to the smooth running of our daily operations, supporting educators across all rooms while ensuring continuity of high-quality care for children throughout the centre.

 As our float educator, you will move between the Nursery, Toddler, and Preschool rooms as needed, covering lunch breaks and providing seamless, relationship-based care for all children in your care.

What We Are Looking For

To be considered for this role, you will hold one of the following qualifications:

Certificate III Option:

•       Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)

•       Minimum 2 years of practical experience in a licensed early childhood setting

Diploma Option:

•       Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)

•       Minimum 1 year of practical experience in a licensed early childhood setting

In addition, you will have or be able to provide:

•       A current First Aid certificate (HLTAID012 or equivalent)

•       Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management training

•       Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment in NSW

•       Current Child Protection training or willingness to complete before commencement

•       Evidence of up-to-date immunisation in line with Public Health requirements

•       The right to work in Australia

•       Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid child-related employment prior to commencing work

•       Complete a National Police Check as part of our pre-employment screening process

•       Provide certified copies of all relevant qualifications and identification documents

•       Acknowledge and commit to our Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct before their first day

•       Participate in child protection and mandatory reporting training as required by the centre and by law

•       Report any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child immediately, in line with our policies and mandatory reporting obligations under the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW)

We apply thorough and consistent child-safe recruitment practices for every appointment. You will be required to provide 2 current references, which will be conducted as part of our recruitment process. We ask all candidates to be transparent about any matters that may be relevant to their suitability to work with children.
