We’re looking for a Diploma Qualified Educator (or Graduate Diploma qualified) to join our team in an ongoing role that offers both connection and variety across Poa Banyul, Grovedale and Greenville Kindergartens.

If you’re passionate about play-based learning and looking to build your experience across different environments, while still feeling grounded in a consistent team, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Your Week at a Glance

This role offers a guaranteed 70 hours per fortnight with a mix of consistency and flexibility:

  • Thursday & Friday at Poa Banyul Kindergarten as your home base, where you’ll build meaningful relationships with children, families, and your team
  • Tuesday & Wednesday working across Poa Banyul, Grovedale, and Greenville Kindergartens

From time to time, you may also step into an Activity Group Leader role, offering a natural pathway to grow your confidence and leadership skills.

When you’re needed at other services, travel from your home site (Poa Banyul) is paid, so you feel supported wherever your day takes you.

This position is paid in line with VECTA 2020:

A Role That Blends Connection and Variety

In this role, no two weeks look exactly the same; and that’s part of what makes it so rewarding.

You’ll enjoy the familiarity of a regular home site, while also having the opportunity to work alongside different teams, experience a variety of learning environments, and broaden your practice across multiple kindergartens.

Each day, you’ll help create environments where children feel safe, supported, and inspired; contributing to play-based programs that encourage curiosity, connection, and development.

What You Bring, We Celebrate

We’re looking for someone who brings confidence, adaptability, and a genuine love for working with children. To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A Diploma or Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
  • Valid and current Working with Children Check
  • A strong understanding of the VEYLDF, EYLF, and National Quality Framework
  • Confidence stepping into new environments and building relationships quickly
  • The ability to collaborate with different teams and contribute positively to each service
  • A willingness to take initiative and step into leadership when needed
  • A passion for play-based learning and reflective practice

A Team That Shares Your Purpose

Across all three kindergartens, you’ll be welcomed into teams that are supportive, collaborative, and committed to creating positive outcomes for children and families.

Whether you’re at your home site or supporting another service, you’ll be surrounded by educators who value your contribution and are ready to work alongside you.

More Than a Workplace

Being part of Meli means your work reaches beyond the classroom. You’re contributing to stronger families, connected communities, and a network of services that make a real difference across the region.

Space to Grow, Support to Lead

This role offers a unique opportunity to build your skills across different settings while still feeling part of a consistent team.

With opportunities to step into Activity Group Leader roles from time to time, you’ll be supported to grow your confidence and capability at your own pace, with guidance from experienced educators and leaders across our network.

What Sets This Role Apart

  • A thoughtful blend of consistency and variety
  • The chance to build strong relationships at your home site while expanding your experience across other services
  • Guaranteed ongoing hours (70 per fortnight)
  • Opportunities to step into leadership and grow your confidence
  • Paid travel from Poa Banyul when working across other services
  • A welcoming, supportive network that values your growth and contribution
