Our vacancy 

We are looking for casual Learning and Engagement Coordinators. 

As a casual Learning and Engagement Coordinator, you will play a role in bringing the State Library’s collections and stories to life for learners across Western Australia. You will deliver inspiring, curriculum‑informed learning programs that support students and teachers to explore WA history and develop a lifelong love of reading. Working with a small, collaborative team, you will lead engaging education experiences both in person and online for audiences ranging from early years to university, as well as deliver creative family programs during school holidays that foster a passion for reading and writing.

Location 

This position is ideally located at the State Library of Western Australia in the Perth Cultural Centre, close to major public transport hubs and the bustling café, cultural and shopping districts.

1. Skills and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and expectations and provide flexible and responsive service. 

  • Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a team, with a positive approach to continuous improvement. 

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing, including the presentation of training programs. 


2. Knowledge and Experience:  

  • Knowledge of education curricula. 

  • Experience in designing and conducting programs and courses for children. 

  • Demonstrated experience in solving problems through creative and workable solutions and options. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of integrated library management systems, internet and computer applications, e.g. word processing and spreadsheets.
