About the Role

Prospective Institute of Higher Education is seeking an experienced Course Coordinator (Discipline Head) in Information Technology and Management & Commerce. This senior academic leadership role is suited to a scholar-practitioner who thrives at the intersection of curriculum leadership, people management, and academic governance.

Reporting to the Academic Dean, you will serve as discipline head responsible for the end-to-end academic management of your discipline — from student admission and progression through to course review and moderation. You will be a member of the Learning and Teaching Committee.

Key Responsibilities

Students

• Academic induction and orientation

• Recognition of prior learning assessments

• Assessment and moderation oversight

• Student progression and graduation eligibility

Courses

• Annual course review and benchmarking

• Reports to Learning & Teaching Committee

• Student and staff satisfaction surveys

• External benchmarking of coursework

Learning & Teaching

• Timetabling and examination coordination

• LMS oversight and resource management

• Deliver up to 2 subjects per study period

• Ensure prescribed texts are current and available

Academic Oversight

• Academic misconduct management

• Accurate student grade and result records

• Contribute to academic staff recruitment

• Comply with Institute policies and procedures

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Doctorate or master's qualification in Information Technology, Management & Commerce, or a closely related cognate discipline

• Minimum 5 years' teaching experience in higher education; a tertiary teaching qualification is preferred

• Demonstrated track record in course administration, curriculum design, timetabling, and assessment moderation in a higher education setting

• Record of academic scholarship including publications and/or conference presentations

• Proven leadership with ability to motivate, mentor, and develop academic teams

• Professional accreditation with a relevant discipline body

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including stakeholder engagement

• Highly developed organisational and planning skills with ability to work autonomously

• Demonstrated engagement with industry and communities of practice
