About this Role

We are a seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and highly organised Boarding Coordinator to work in one of our four boarding houses, be a great role model for girls in Years 7-12, ensure their well being, and contribute to the smooth running of their homes-away-from home.

This is a permanent part-time role during term time only of approximately 22 hours per week. It incorporates evening / weekend work, and pre / post term set up and close-down, and may suit an individual with a background in teaching or adolescent health.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with the smooth running of a school boarding house

  • Oversee the physical, social and emotional welfare of each student

  • Oversee weekend activities students, in conjunction with other colleagues

  • Create a warm, positive and safe home-away-from-home for boarders by dealing with the daily and pastoral needs of boarders and their families

  • Maintain student records, and ensure student safety and security

  • Attend school functions and events as appropriate

  • Sleep overnight in the boarding house and be on call for emergencies.

What You Will Bring

  • Relevant qualifications or experience gained from working with young people (and preferably girls, in teaching, nursing or other youth-related activities)

  • A thorough appreciation of and commitment to boarders and their families

  • An understanding of boarder requirements, development needs and ongoing pastoral care

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment to positive relationships and professional communication

  • The ability to work collaboratively in a small team with an adaptable and proactive approach

  • Excellent understanding of and interest in contemporary issues in adolescent well being and development

  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and databases.
