About the Position
Join our Junior School team in a key role supporting the wellbeing and character development of students in Prep to Year 5.
The Behavioural Support Officer P–5 provides proactive and responsive behavioural support to students through a range of strategies and programs that nurture social, emotional and behavioural growth. Working collaboratively with the Head and Deputy Head of Junior School, teaching staff and the College Wellbeing Team, this role ensures a coordinated and consistent approach to behaviour support aligned with the College’s culture and Christian values.
The successful applicant will:
Provide behavioural care and support to students in Prep–Year 5
Implement positive behaviour support strategies
Develop and facilitate proactive wellbeing and character formation programs
Support staff with strategies relating to student wellbeing and behaviour
Maintain accurate and confidential wellbeing records in line with College policy
Manage low-level and repeat behavioural matters, referring significant concerns as required
Provide regular communication and feedback to parents and staff, regarding behaviour and wellbeing of students.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills
A high level of empathy and relational capability
Experience working within a school setting
Experience developing and implementing proactive student wellbeing programs
A current Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment
A Diploma in Counselling (or similar qualification) will be highly regarded.
