A unique and purpose driven education organisation is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Business Manager to oversee the financial and operational functions of two remote school sites in the Kimberley region.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad leadership role, supporting school operations that are deeply connected to community, culture and student outcomes. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and school leaders, you will play a critical role in ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability and effective day to day operations.

The role

• Lead all financial management including budgeting, reporting and audit preparation
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership
• Oversee compliance, governance and statutory reporting requirements
• Manage HR administration including payroll, contracts and employment compliance
• Oversee operational systems, administration processes and vendor management
• Coordinate facilities management, WHS compliance and contractor engagement
• Support funding processes, reporting and government requirements
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and operations
• As a remote based role, there is an expectation to be on site 80% of the time

What we are looking for

• Proven experience in a senior finance or business management role
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, reporting and audit processes
• Experience with governance, compliance and Board reporting
• Capability across HR, operations and administration functions
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem solving ability
• Confident working autonomously while supporting a broader leadership team
• Experience in education, not for profit or remote environments highly regarded
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or similar, with CA or CPA highly regarded
• Current Working With Children Check and National Police Clearance
• Full Australian working rights
