Yeronga State High School is searching for an experienced, motivated and capable Teacher Aide to join our Senior School team. This position provides high-level support to teaching and learning staff, with a strong focus on student supervision, engagement, and wellbeing.

You will play a key role in supporting students during Studyline sessions, ensuring a structured, safe, and productive learning environment. A significant aspect of the role involves working with students who are at risk of disengagement and supporting their successful participation in senior schooling pathways.

This position requires initiative, sound judgement, and the ability to work with limited supervision while contributing meaningfully to the effective operation of the Senior School.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.66FTE), 50 hours per fortnight

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support students during Studyline and independent learning sessions.
• Promote student engagement, positive behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing, particularly for students at risk of disengagement.
• Assist with behaviour support strategies and individual student support plans.
• Provide targeted support to individual students and small groups to develop organisation, study skills, and learning engagement.
• Support Senior School administration, including attendance monitoring, student records, data management, and exam supervision.
• Assist teachers with the preparation and supervision of learning activities and study programs.
• Maintain accurate records and observations to support student planning and interventions.
• Contribute to student welfare, health, safety, and first aid requirements.
• Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively within the Senior School team while contributing to school priorities and initiatives.

1. Experience supporting secondary or Senior School students, particularly those requiring additional behavioural, engagement, attendance, learning, or wellbeing support.
2. Ability to work independently with limited supervision, demonstrating initiative, sound judgement, and the capacity to respond effectively to student and operational needs within a school environment.
3. Demonstrated ability to support positive behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing while building productive relationships with young people, including students at risk of disengagement.
4. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
6. Commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, and confidentiality.
