About the Role 

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding educator and emerging leader to make a significant impact within a thriving academic faculty. 

As Assistant Head of Faculty – Language and Literature, you will work alongside the Head of Faculty to drive excellence in teaching and learning, support and mentor colleagues, and help shape a dynamic and engaging curriculum that challenges students to think deeply, communicate effectively and develop a love of literature. 

You will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement while contributing to the strategic direction of the Faculty and the broader life of the School. 

This role is ideal for an experienced teacher looking to take the next step in their leadership journey or an established curriculum leader seeking an opportunity to contribute within one of Australia's leading independent schools. 

About You 

You are an inspiring educator and collaborative leader who is passionate about the power of language, storytelling and learning. 

You bring: 

• Strong leadership qualities to provide critical support to the Head of Faculty and effectively lead the faculty team members 
• The ability to implement initiatives, project delivery and change management  
• A high degree of technical knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional learning 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to advise and liaise across all levels of an organisation and with parents and guardians 
• The ability to work collaboratively with other team members  
• Administrative and organisational skills 
• Communication and interpersonal skills 
• Commitment to the full life of an Independent school and a willingness to engage in School activities out of regular hours

• A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
