MeritVy Learning Centre is a new premium tutoring centre in Berwick dedicated to helping students achieve academic excellence through high-quality teaching, structured programs, and small-group learning.

With a maximum of 10 students per class, our tutors have the opportunity to provide personalised support while helping students build confidence and achieve outstanding academic outcomes.

The Opportunity

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated tutors to join our founding team. Successful applicants will teach small-group classes to primary and secondary students using structured lesson plans and teaching resources provided by MeritVy.

We are recruiting tutors for:

• English

• Mathematics

• Selective School & Scholarship Exam Preparation

Tutors may teach one or multiple subjects depending on their qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive small-group tutoring sessions.

• Explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching to suit different learning styles.

• Encourage student participation and build confidence.

• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain a positive, professional and supportive classroom environment.

• Prepare classrooms before lessons and ensure resources are ready for teaching.

• Complete attendance records and basic administrative tasks as required.

• Participate in induction training and ongoing professional development.

• Uphold MeritVy's child safety policies and professional standards.

About You

You are passionate about education and enjoy helping students succeed. You can communicate clearly, motivate learners and create a positive classroom experience.

• High-achieving Year 10–12 students (for primary tutoring roles)

• Students or graduates from selective-entry schools

• Scholarship recipients

• Experienced tutors

Essential Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong academic achievement in your teaching area.

• Reliable, punctual and professional.

• Ability to teach confidently in a small-group environment.

• Availability for at least 2–3 teaching sessions per week.

• Working With Children Check (Employee) or willingness to obtain one before commencement (where legally required).

Desirable

• Previous tutoring or teaching experience.

• Strong Victorian Curriculum knowledge.

• Experience preparing students for Selective Entry or Scholarship examinations.

• Local to Berwick or surrounding suburbs.
