Lambda Education Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and dynamic Academic Manager to provide leadership and oversight of academic operations, training and assessment systems, compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
The Academic Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all training and assessment practices comply with the ASQA Standards for RTOs 2025, the ESOS Act 2000, the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in assessment management, including assessment development, validation, moderation, pre-validation and post-validation processes, trainer and assessor support, academic governance, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong leadership capabilities to manage academic staff and maintain the highest standards of educational quality and student outcomes.
· Provide strategic leadership and direction for academic operations.
· Manage and supervise trainers, assessors, academic coordinators, and support staff.
· Ensure the delivery of high-quality training and assessment services.
· Foster a culture of academic excellence, compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
· Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and professional development activities.
· Monitor trainer and assessor performance and competency requirements.
· Oversee the design, development, implementation, and review of training and assessment strategies.
· Ensure all assessment tools meet the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
· Manage assessment mapping to training package and accredited course requirements.
· Monitor assessment practices to ensure consistency and fairness across all courses.
· Review assessment outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
· Ensure assessment systems meet ASQA regulatory requirements.
· Develop and implement annual validation schedules.
· Manage pre-validation processes before assessment implementation.
· Coordinate post-validation activities to review assessment effectiveness and compliance.
· Facilitate moderation meetings to ensure consistency of assessment decisions.
· Maintain validation records, reports, and evidence for regulatory compliance.
· Implement corrective actions arising from validation and moderation findings.

· Support internal and external audits.
· Prepare compliance reports and academic governance reports for management.
· Ensure academic operations comply with ESOS and National Code requirements.
· Monitor student progress and academic intervention strategies.
· Support compliance with attendance, course progress, and student support obligations.
· Work closely with student services teams to ensure positive student outcomes.
· Contribute to CRICOS compliance activities where applicable.
· Lead academic quality assurance initiatives.
· Conduct internal academic audits and reviews.
· Monitor student outcomes, completion rates, assessment quality, and trainer performance.
· Maintain continuous improvement registers and action plans.
· Implement improvements arising from audits, validation outcomes, student feedback, and industry consultation.
· Oversee development and review of:
o Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS)
o Assessment tools and resources
o Academic policies and procedures
o Validation and moderation records
o Academic governance documentation
· Ensure all academic records are maintained accurately and securely.
· Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies as required.
· Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Education, Training, Management, Business, or a related discipline.
· TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent current qualification).
· Relevant vocational competencies and industry experience.
The candidate must possess specific education and training vocational competencies relevant to the VET sector.
· Minimum 5 years' experience in academic management, compliance, or educational leadership within the VET sector.
· Demonstrated experience managing training and assessment systems.
· Extensive experience in assessment development, mapping, validation, moderation, and continuous improvement.
· Experience leading academic teams and managing educational quality systems.
· Experience preparing for and managing ASQA audits and compliance reviews.
