Lake Joondalup Baptist College seeks to appoint a Primary Education Assistant. The successful applicant will be required to fully support teachers in the implementation of learning programs for primary students within an inclusive environment.
This position is 0.8 FTE (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) for a fixed term contract 20/07/2026 - 11/09/2026.
Duties
Lead small group work in Literacy, Mathematics and other learning areas to provide the agreed educational outcome by the class teacher.
Listen to one-on-one reading by students and participate in Learning Enhancement reading programs.
Gather diagnostic information on students with learning support needs, record student observations and liaise with teachers of the students being supported to monitor student progress and coursework completion.
Become familiar with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Curriculum Adjustment Plans (CAPs) and support their implementation within the class.
Assist with general administration.
Qualifications / Requirements
Certificate IV in Education Support/Special Needs
Knowledge and experience of how to work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Working with Children Check (mandatory) or proof of application prior to commencement.
Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check through Department of Education Western Australia less than six months old (mandatory) or proof of application prior to commencement.
Demonstrated high level of organisational ability and initiative including experience in work planning and prioritising to meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality about all matters at all times.
A practicing Christian, and a written reference from your pastor/minister is desirable.
