Rivermount College invites applications from Early Childhood Teachers who are inspiring educators, with the desire and skills to deliver quality learning experiences for his/her students.

The role of an Early Childhood Teacher at Rivermount College is to maximise the engagement of students and their learning outcomes by delivering high quality teaching in a safe and supportive learning environment, whereby each student can realise their potential.

This position is a Fixed Term Employment Contract available for the duration of Semester 2, 2026 (6 Months) to provide parental leave coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver effective teaching and learning programs for every student in allocated class, which are aligned with national, state and College guidelines.

• Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge of relevant programs.

• Work as part of the team to achieve the aims and objectives of the school and develop cooperative relationships.

• Ensure an inclusive classroom environment for all students.

• Complete administrative tasks as required in a thorough and punctual manner.

• Actively participate in the College’s extensive co-curricular program. 

• Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment. 

Selection Criteria

• Hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or ACECQA approved equivalent.

• Previous experience in Early Years is required. 

• Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.

• Excellent knowledge and experience teaching in the lower primary years, and a thorough understanding of the QLD Kindergarten Learning Guidlines, with proven effectiveness benchmarked against the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers.

• Competent at integrating digital technology into a contemporary learning environment. 

• Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students.

• Be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative, and collaborative team.

• Effective behavioural management, planning and organisational skills.

• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

• An enthusiastic, self-motivated, and professional attitude.
