About the Role

Peregian Beach College is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the delivery of HR across our school community.

This is a stand alone HR role reporting directly to the Principal, with responsibility for both strategic and operational human resources functions. You will work closely with leadership to support staff, strengthen workplace culture, and ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation and child-safe standards.

This role is ideal for a senior HR Advisor or experienced HR Manager looking for a broad, hands-on role in a values-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the Principal and leadership team to provide expert HR advice and support
  • Manage employee relations, performance management, and workplace matters
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, Awards, NES, EBA and child-safe requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employment contracts
  • Support staff wellbeing and engagement
  • Work closely with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate and compliant employment conditions
  • Maintain HR systems (Employment Hero) and workforce reporting

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and NES
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and advising leaders
  • Experience across recruitment, HR compliance, and policy development
  • The ability to work autonomously in a standalone HR role
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • A Bachelor of Business with a Major in Human Resource Management.

Experience in education, schools, or not-for-profit organisations is highly regarded but not essential.

Why Join Peregian Beach College?

  • Work in a values-driven, community-focused school environment
  • Work directly with the Principal and have real influence on people and culture
  • Enjoy a diverse HR generalist role across strategy and operations
  • Be part of a supportive and collaborative team
  • Located in the Peregian Beach / Sunshine Coast region

Important Information

This is a broad generalist HR role suited to someone who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on, and is comfortable managing a wide range of HR responsibilities in a smaller organisation
