About Us

VIA, a well-established registered RTO, is actively searching for accomplished trainers specialising in hospitality management to join us. VIA proudly presents an extensive range of 16 qualifications, including disciplines such as Human Resources Management, Project Management, Leadership and Management, Marketing and Communication, with a distinct focus on Hospitality Management and Kitchen Management courses. Our core objective revolves around providing students, especially those from international backgrounds, an exceptional educational experience. 

Our campus, located at a premium address within the lively Sydney CBD, is complemented by a state-of-the-art commercial training kitchen and training restaurant with a modern bar attached, recently constructed to the highest standards.


About the Position

As an experienced VET Trainer, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the talents of aspiring young students. We are offering a casual position, with the potential to lead to permanent part-time employment. You will need to maintain industry currency while delivering training and assessment in Hospitality Management courses, aligned with the college’s tailored curriculum framework. Ideally, you have a background in food and beverage, with extensive front-of-house experience.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and assessment to students

  • Participate in the preparation and maintenance of teaching resources and learning materials

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback where required

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment in accordance with the College’s training and assessment policies and procedures

Essential selection criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Hospitality (F&B Stream) or their successors; and Diploma of Hospitality Management

  • Certificate IV in training and assessment or above

  • Proven experience working in commercial hospitality venue and/or in managerial position within hospitality industry for at least 3 years

  • Experience in delivering face to face vocational training

  • Intermediate computer literacy

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Punctuality, reliability, and self-motivation

  • Full Australian working rights

Desirable:

  • Understanding of comprehensive compliance requirements in VET sector

  • Understanding of the dynamic nature of international education industry
