About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled individual to join Wilderness School as a Technology & Enterprise Technician, supporting innovative teaching and learning experiences across our Design, Technology and Enterprise (DTE) programs.

Reporting to the Head of Technology & Enterprise, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing a wide range of specialist technologies, equipment and resources used by students and staff. This includes supporting emerging technologies such as robotics, virtual reality, laser cutting and 3D printing, maintaining software and equipment, assisting with student projects and competitions, and ensuring a safe and well-organised learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with technology, problem-solving and supporting young people to explore creativity, innovation and enterprise.

This is a casual position, working approximately 15 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible 

About You

  • Experience working with technology, digital systems, equipment management or a related technical field
  • Current study or qualifications in technology, engineering, information technology, design, digital technologies or a related discipline are highly regarded
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Experience maintaining, updating and managing software, hardware and digital resources
  • Excellent organisational skills, including inventory management and record keeping
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and external stakeholders
  • A flexible, adaptable and resourceful approach to work in a dynamic educational environment
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies
  • A commitment to workplace safety, risk management and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated professionalism, initiative and ethical conduct
