About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Educator to join our team at Frankston Beach Sanctuary of Early Learning, located in Frankston VIC 3199. This is a full-time position that plays a pivotal role in creating and delivering high-quality educational programmes for children in our centre. As Lead Educator, you will be responsible for leading a learning room, setting the educational direction, and ensuring that all children receive exceptional care and educational experiences that promote their development across all developmental domains. This role is essential to maintaining the standards and reputation of our centre as a leader in early childhood education.

Key responsibilities

  1. Plan and implement engaging, play-based learning programmes that are responsive to children's interests, needs and developmental stages

  2. Lead and mentor educators within your learning room, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment

  3. Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery

  4. Observe and assess children's development, maintaining detailed records and sharing progress with families through regular communication

  5. Build positive relationships with families, involving them in their child's learning journey and addressing any concerns or questions

  6. Ensure compliance with the National Quality Standard, centre policies and relevant legislation including the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations

  7. Support the professional development and wellbeing of team members within your learning room

  8. Participate in centre-wide initiatives, meetings and professional development activities

  9. Model best practice in early childhood education and promote continuous improvement within your room


What we're looking for

  1. A recognised early childhood qualification such as Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent

  2. Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain one prior to commencement

  3. Current First Aid and CPR certification

  4. Demonstrated experience working as an educator in a long day care or early learning environment

  5. Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and ability to implement it effectively

  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues

  7. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor and support other educators

  8. A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting children's holistic development

  9. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  10. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive workplace culture

  11. Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic early learning environment

  12. Preferred experience in coordinating or room leading roles within an early learning setting
