Do you love babies? Are you looking for a new challenge and amazing job satisfaction? Would you like the flexibility of being able to work around school drop-offs/ pick ups, with no requirement to work during the school holidays? Would you like to join our dynamic team delivering our award-winning programme to parents and their babies? We are looking a for skilled and dedicated person to lead classes in our baby development programme in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
A bit about you
We’re looking for someone who can engage a room with enthusiasm whilst being tuned into the vibe of the group; ensuring that every parent and baby is comfortable and able to participate to the extent that they feel comfortable at any given time.
If you currently have children at school/in care, and are therefore not looking for full-time work, this position may be ideal as the total work hours will be between 5-6 hours per day, 2 days per week (plus flexible paid time for preparation). There is a minimum requirement to work 40 weeks per year - which can be negotiated and agreed each year, and means that if you prefer not to work during school holidays, we can structure our term dates to accommodate.
You need to have your own car and be relatively physically fit as there is some lifting and bending required, and plenty of walking… not to mention the puppet shows.
And while formal qualifications in dance are not necessary… there will a requirement at times, to dance like no one's watching (even though there will be a room full of parents and babies looking on!).
To be successful, you will need to be able to work flexibly from home when preparing for classes and when maintaining/cleaning equipment between classes (you will be paid for this), as well as working on-site co-facilitating classes in Mitcham on Mondays and in Kew on Thursdays.
A bit about the position
Mondays in Mitcham &
Thursdays in Kew
Typical hours on the days you will be running classes are: 8:30/9:00am - 2:00/ 2:30pm, however there is some flexibility with regards to start/ finishing times. We are looking for someone who can commit to running classes 2 days per week during the school terms.
We want a team who love what they do and who are able to make the Baby Sensory program a memorable, fun, magical, and impactful learning experience for babies and parents alike.
Formal teaching or other qualifications are not a requirement, however experience caring for and regularly playing with babies will be very highly regarded, as will demonstrated interest and knowledge of infant and child development.
The casual hourly rate for this position is $38.08 (including superannuation).
You will be paid for a weekly preparation shift for class and equipment preparation. Although this is a set shift, this work can be completed flexibly outside of the days you will be running classes and with some limitations, can be determined by you.
We like to reward high performance, excellence and awesomeness... You'll get lots of recognition and feedback about what you're doing well, but it's also nice to earn some extra dollars when you've contributed strongly to the performance of the business - so you will have the opportunity to receive two different incentive payments at the completion of each term:
Performance Incentive - Based on the number of enrolments your classes attract (this includes new, enrolments and relevant re-enrolments)
KPI's Incentive - Based on meeting the targets set by the program manager
And if you don’t already have one, or both of the below – you must be willing to get them with impressive speediness if you are successful:
Current Working With Children Check
First Aid Certificate.
We are looking for someone to commence their training as soon as possible, however this can be negotiated for the right applicant.
If you are interested in joining us please contact Sarah at mon•••••••@babysensory.com or 04•• ••• 172 for a full position description & a job application form.
