SDN Redfern and Waterloo are seeking Casual Educators and Senior Educators. Enjoy flexible work, supportive teams, and immediate start opportunities.

About The Role

At SDN Redfern and Waterloo, you will provide care and supervision to children in safe, engaging learning environments, support their development through play-based experiences and educational activities, build positive relationships with families, and work collaboratively with educators to create inclusive spaces where children can learn, grow and thrive.


This will include:

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate engaging early learning programs tailored to each child’s strengths, interests and needs
  • Implement the EYLF and uphold National Quality Standards, working towards high-quality outcomes
  • Monitor and document children’s learning and development using a variety of meaningful methods
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive environment that supports all areas of development
  • Foster a safe, secure setting with flexible routines and smooth transitions


About You:

You will have experience and skills in the following:

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care 
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities is highly regarded
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs and diverse learning, developmental or behavioural requirements is highly regarded
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (NSW)
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Standards 
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework 
  • Experience in a similar role 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Child Protection legislation, with current Child Protection Training and Senior First Aid qualifications

What is it like to work with us?


Redfern: Our Redfern Centre is a 60-place early childhood education and child care centre located in the heart of Redfern, conveniently close to shops and public transport. Our indoor and large outdoor play spaces have been designed to facilitate learning through play.

 

Waterloo – Lois Barker: Established in 1983, our Waterloo Centre is a 44-place centre, offering early childhood education for children from birth to school age as well as an Autism Specific program focusing on transition to school. It's a small and tranquil centre which families call their "oasis in the city." The centre is located close to public transport (trains and buses) and has off-street all-day parking nearby.
