Northern Rivers Children’s Services (NRCS) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work at our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services located at Bangalow, Bexhill, Clunes, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, Goonellabah and Lismore. Duties:

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in care.

• Ensure children are always properly supervised, and that only authorised persons collect children from care.

• Plan and record a range of age-appropriate experiences and activities incorporating the My Time Our Place framework (Assistants support this process).

• Set-up and pack away daily activities and leave facilities in a clean and tidy condition.

• Apply NRCS and school policies in relation to child behaviour and safety.

• Maintain accurate enrolment and attendance records of children in care (Coordinators)

• Fulfil the relevant requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

• Fulfil the relevant Award Classification definitions and duties.

 Selection Criteria:

• Satisfactory Working with Children Check (i.e., not be a prohibited person).

• Sensitivity to children’s needs, provide positive guidance and ensure children’s safety.

• Prior work experience in the care and or education of children (preferred but not essential for Assistant roles).

• Current approved first aid qualifications (preferred but not essential for Assistant roles).

• Current Child Protection Certificate (preferred but not essential for Assistant roles).

• A good level of physical fitness adequate for participation in active experiences. 

• An ability to work as a team, independently and responsibly.

• Have basic computer skills.

• Develop positive cooperative relationships with NRCS Staff, School Principals, teachers and parents.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Provide evidence of suitability by 2 relevant work references / referees.
