The role

The Operations Coordinator plays a key role behind the scenes at the Student Guild, helping create the spaces, services, events, and experiences that make university life more connected, engaging, and memorable for students.

Working across both Business Services and Commercial Services, you'll support the smooth day-to-day operation of the Guild, helping ensure our facilities, commercial venues, tenants, systems, and processes are safe, effective, and well managed.

Working closely with the Head of Operations, you'll coordinate activities across contracts, facilities, WHS, compliance, projects, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. No two days are quite the same, and you'll enjoy a varied role that combines operational problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on coordination.

If you're someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity, building strong relationships, and helping an organisation deliver meaningful outcomes, you'll thrive in this role.

The position attracts a salary of between $75,418 - $82,488 plus 12% superannuation and is a full-time role.

About the Student Guild

The Griffith University Gold Coast (GUGC) Student Guild is an independent, not-for-profit student association representing and supporting more than 17,000 students. We work closely with Griffith University and community partners to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive campus experience.

The Guild has three divisions – Student Services, Business Services, and Commercial Services – led by our Chief Executive Officer and governed by a hybrid Board of elected student representatives and external skills-based members.

Our purpose is simple: to support students and enhance student life. Our vision? To create a thriving student community where every student feels they belong and are empowered for their future.

This position works across both Business Services and Commercial Services, supporting the operational, administrative, and commercial activities that help the Guild deliver great services and experiences for students every day. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to keep operations running smoothly and support safe, compliant, and well-managed environments across the Guild’s commercial venues and on-campus tenancies. Commercial Services includes the Uni Bar, Functions & Catering, The Uni Store, Uni Fitness, Australia Post, The Kiosk café, and a range of food and retail tenancies that help bring campus life to life while supporting the Guild’s long-term sustainability.

We are the student life experts, and the student experience starts with us.
