Choosing an alternative pathway for a teenager is one of the most considered decisions a family makes. The person who guides families through it needs rigour, empathy, and the curiosity to turn a parent’s worry into a clear next step.

We’re hiring an Enrolments Lead — an experienced operator who will own the full enrolment journey at IDEA, from first enquiry to working with our Team to prepare each young person for their first day.

Who are we?

IDEA is ahead of the cultural and institutional curve for addressing the needs of society’s next generation. We unshackle our world’s most important thinkers so they can get on with making it better. IDEA is an academy for young innovators, entrepreneurs, and creatives. We offer a full-time vocational alternative to secondary education for young people from the age of 14 years.

At IDEA we support students to make a seamless transition to life beyond compulsory education with a portfolio of contemporary credentials that showcase each student’s niche talents and potential. IDEA’s fully immersive real-world program is delivered out of our co-learning hubs in the Perth CBD and the Fremantle region.

The vocational credentials embedded within IDEA’s program are delivered through our Registered Training Organisation Nua Learn (RTO Code: 46284). Through IDEA and Nua Learn, we envision a future where education goes beyond traditional institutional delivery settings and inspires young minds to be creators, critical thinkers, and problem solvers. We believe that by integrating design thinking, project-based learning, and entrepreneurial mindsets into a vocational education, we can unleash the untapped potential of young learners and prepare them to thrive in their careers and lives.

Are you our next Enrolments Lead?

Enrolling a young person at IDEA is not a transaction — it shapes the next three years of a teenager’s life. You bring sales experience and a track record of moving people through considered decisions, but carry it lightly. You ask better questions than most. You listen for what isn’t being said. You’re tech-fluent and use AI to free yourself up for the high-value human work.

You may be a parent or close relative of teenagers; someone who has worked closely with young people through education, youth work or coaching; or a high-EQ sales / customer success professional from a values-aligned business (NDIS, allied health, premium subscription, considered-purchase B2C). You’re looking for work where what you do compounds.

You live our team values:

  • Care Deeply — for the families we serve and the team we work with. Even when the right answer is “not yet” or “not us.”

  • Mission to Mastery — committed to the craft, whether that’s a sales call, a follow-up email, or a data dashboard.

  • Adaptable — take initiative, change course when the evidence says so, and help us build the systems that will scale.

Your role

You’ll be the welcoming front door to IDEA for prospective families, and the steady hand that walks them from first interest to first day. You’ll report directly to the Directors and work closely with our Community Manager, Operations, Program, and Finance functions.

Key responsibilities

  1. Enrolment & Conversion Management. Own the funnel end-to-end. Run the conversion sequence from first enquiry through information session through interview through offer through enrolment confirmation. Maintain the standards of communication, response time, and family experience that reflect what sets IDEA apart — the depth of relationship, care and case-management we bring to every family, and the unique value proposition that flows from it.

  2. Customer Experience & Engagement. Be the trusted voice for prospective families: sales calls, information sessions, follow-up, the harder conversations when IDEA isn’t the right fit. Build the trust that makes a family say yes — or graciously hear “this isn’t the right home for your young person” without losing the relationship.

  3. Data, Insights & Systems. Operate and continuously improve our funnel management system, CRM, and reporting. Bring an AI-fluent eye to automation, conversion analytics, and feedback loops. Identify the patterns we’re missing. Surface the data that lets us make better decisions about cohort design, marketing spend, and where to invest next.

  4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Support. Support our Community Manager and Directors in stewarding IDEA’s three partner types — Referrals (psychologists, school counsellors, allied-health professionals, current parents who introduce right-fit families), Community (contributors who enrich the programme), and Funding (philanthropic, grant, scholarship and NDIS-adjacent funders). Directly own the parts of partner relationships that touch enrolment — referral pathway tracking.

  5. Scholarships & NDIS Support. Manage scholarship applications end-to-end. Support families considering NDIS funding for IDEA fees.

Why us?

IDEA is a fun, engaging and highly collaborative work environment that requires you to be flexible, adaptable and deeply passionate about changing the world one family at a time. Here’s what it’s like to work with us:

  • Bring your authentic self to work. Our best work happens when we feel safe, valued and free to be the truest version of ourselves with a commitment to self-development. No outdated dress codes or constraints to being yourself at IDEA.

  • Work/life integration. We all have things outside of work that contribute to who we are; that’s why we champion work/life integration practices to empower you with the flexibility to work in a way that best works for you and for us — including hybrid working, flexitime, and largely remote work once you’re fluent in the IDEA model.

  • Work and play. We’re a social bunch with a big mission; community is everything to us and our team is based on competency, capability, culture and chemistry. We are unshakeable on our mission and celebrate success (and failing fast and getting back up again) through social events, team building and all-staff co-design meetings to foster trust, transparency and collaboration.

Selection criteria

  1. Trusted advisor: Demonstrated experience guiding individuals or families through a considered, high-stakes decision — in sales, customer success, allied health, education, or a comparable role.

  2. Empathetic communicator: Demonstrated commitment to family well-being and a track record of building rapport across the full age range from teenagers to grandparents.

  3. Sales craft: Demonstrated experience in conversion-focused work — pipeline management, qualified-lead nurture, objection handling, and accountable to measurable outcomes.

  4. Tech and AI fluent: Demonstrated capability with CRM / funnel-management tooling, comfortable adopting and shaping AI-augmented workflows. You don’t need to be technical; you do need to be curious and adoption-fast.

  5. Data-aware: Comfortable with conversion analytics, dashboards, and using data to inform decisions and identify patterns.

  6. Systems thinker: Demonstrated ability to design or improve a process end-to-end, not just operate within one.

  7. Self-directed: Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member in a small, lean organisation.

  8. Communicator: Well-developed verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build rapport and interact effectively with families, professionals and stakeholders.

  9. Mission-aligned: A genuine understanding of, and care for, neurodivergent and alternative-pathway learners and the families who support them.

  10. Coaching disposition: Comfortable sharing your craft with colleagues. Able to coach others into new ways of working and bring professional discipline into the wider organisation.
