The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Centre Manager to lead our Happy Hearts service and guide our team of dedicated educators.

This is a leadership role grounded in relationships, culture and quality practice. You will be responsible for shaping a positive, inclusive and high-quality learning environment where children, families and educators feel safe, valued and connected.

You will lead with authenticity, purpose and care—building a strong team culture that reflects the values of Happy Hearts and ensures high-quality outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and support a team of educators to build a positive, collaborative and high-quality learning environment.

  • Foster strong, respectful and meaningful relationships with children, families, educators and the wider community.

  • Oversee daily operations of the service, ensuring compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, NQS and service policies and procedures.

  • Drive continuous quality improvement in line with the National Quality Framework (NQF).

  • Build a strong culture of reflective practice, professional growth and shared accountability.

  • Ensure child safety is embedded across all practices, environments and decision-making processes.

  • Support staffing, recruitment, onboarding and workforce capability development to maintain a stable and high-performing team.

  • Oversee centre operations including occupancy, budgeting, resource management and sustainability.

  • Ensure effective rostering and staffing practices that support continuity of care and quality practice.

  • Strengthen family engagement through open communication, trust and meaningful partnerships.

  • Promote a culture of wellbeing, respect and collaboration across the service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong understanding of EYLF, QKLG, NQS and regulatory frameworks

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Essential Requirements

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (as per regulatory requirements)

  • Current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

  • Current First Aid, CPR and Child Protection training (or willingness to obtain)

  • Proven experience in a Centre Manager or similar early childhood leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
