St Stanislaus' College Bathurst is seeking a reliable, hands-on, and practically minded Maintenance Officer to join our Buildings and Grounds Team. 

As the only Vincentian College in Australia and the country's oldest continuing Catholic boarding school, St Stanislaus' College has been educating and forming young men since 1867. Located in the heart of Bathurst, the College educates approximately 700 students from Years 7–12, including approximately 100 boarding students.

About the Role

Reporting to the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, the Maintenance Officer undertakes a diverse range of duties across the College campus. No two days are the same, and the successful applicant will enjoy a varied role that combines maintenance, groundskeeping and operational support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs across College buildings and facilities;

  • Maintaining College grounds, including mowing, gardening, irrigation checks and basic landscaping;

  • Safely operating and maintaining tools, plant and equipment;

  • Assisting with the set-up and pack-down of College events and activities;

  • Supporting cleaning requirements as needed;

  • Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and hazards;

  • Contributing to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping or a related field;

  • The ability to operate tools, plant and equipment safely and effectively;

  • A sound understanding of Work Health and Safety practices;

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment;

  • Flexibility, initiative and a willingness to assist wherever required;

  • An appreciation of, and commitment to, the ethos and mission of a Catholic Vincentian school.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Driver's Licence;

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.
