We provide a unique two-to-three-year program for young people in Years 10 to 12 designed to progressively develop employability skills and achieve individualized learning goals while meeting the requirements of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

Our aim is to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences that are relevant to the real world of industry.

About the Role

We are seeking a Safeguarding Advisor to join our team in a full-time, 12-month contract with the opportunity for hybrid working arrangements.

You will play a key role in supporting and strengthening child safety practices across the organisation. Acting as a central point of contact, you will provide expert advice on safeguarding concerns, incidents, and complex matters, helping guide informed and timely decision-making.

You will contribute to building a strong culture of child safety by supporting the design and delivery of training, developing practical resources, and ensuring staff have the knowledge and capability to meet their safeguarding responsibilities. The role also supports investigations, including reportable conduct matters, ensuring a child-centred, fair, and compliant approach.

Working closely with stakeholders, you will help drive continuous improvement through policy development, audits, and projects, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and best practice. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by embedding safe, supportive environments for children and young people across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Act as the escalation point for safeguarding concerns, disclosures, incidents, and complaints, ensuring timely and appropriate response
• Supervise and support relevant staff to strengthen safeguarding practice and consistency across the organisation.
• Conduct and support investigations, including reportable conduct matters, ensuring procedural fairness and a child-centred approach.
• Manage Reportable Conduct Scheme obligations and ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and documentation.
• Advise the review, development, and implementation of child safety policies, procedures, and improvements aligned with current legislation and best practice.
• Plan and deliver safeguarding audits, projects, and stakeholder engagement initiatives to strengthen organisational capability and continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following essential and desirable knowledge and skills.

• Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, child protection, criminology, law, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
• Experience in auditing, quality assurance or risk management (desirable)
• Current Working with Children Blue Card and Police Check (or ability to obtain)
• Current Open Driver's Licence
• Willingness to travel within South East Queensland
• Capacity to work occasional evenings or weekends as required
