We are seeking an experienced OOSH Co-ordinator & Educational Leader to join our team in Sydney, NSW. This is a unique full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality out-of-school hours care and educational programming to children in our service. As Co-ordinator (NS & RP) & Educational Leader between two services, you will be responsible for ensuring our services operate in accordance with the National Quality Standard and the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, whilst fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where children can learn, grow and thrive.You will primarily be based at one Sydney location, bringing hands-on strong leadership, vision and educational expertise to support our team, children and families. And provide support for documentation and quality processes across a second service. As both services operate using mirrored systems, policies, procedures, programming frameworks and documentation processes, many tasks only need to be completed once, significantly reducing duplication of work while ensuring consistency, efficiency and quality outcomes across both services.
Key responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation and review of educational programming that is engaging, developmentally appropriate and aligned with the Australian Curriculum and National Quality Standard
Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Outside School Hours Care service, ensuring the effective management of staffing, rostering, food, resources, budgets and operational requirements to maintain a high-quality and well-organised service.
Supervise, mentor and support staff members, fostering a collaborative and professional team environment
Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, including maintaining documentation and records
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, children, schools and the wider community
Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment that promotes children's wellbeing, learning and development
Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and educational outcomes, implementing continuous improvement strategies (QIP)
Manage budgets, ordering and maintenance of equipment and resources
Contribute to staff professional development and induction programs
What we're looking for:
Demonstrated commitment to child protection, duty of care and professional conduct
Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education, with formal qualifications at Diploma level or higher
Strong knowledge and understanding of current National Quality Standard, National Curriculum frameworks and the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
Proven experience working in an out-of-school hours care or educational setting, with demonstrated leadership capability.
Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibilities efficiently, empower team members through positive leadership and foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with children, families, staff and stakeholders
Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated experience in planning and preparing simple, nutritious meals and snacks for primary school-aged children, with a strong understanding of healthy eating principles, the NSW Munch & Move program, food safety practices and the management of dietary and allergy requirements.
Experience in staff supervision, mentoring and professional development
Understanding of inclusive practice and cultural competence in working with diverse families and communities
Current driver's licence
Current First Aid certification (HLTAID012)
