Bay Road Kindy is an established Long Day Care Service with over 30 years in the community — and we are proud of it. We hold an Exceeding Rating under the National Quality Framework, run above ratio every day, and operate as a small, family-run service with 35 children, a close-knit team of experienced educators, and a genuine culture of care.
We are not a big corporate centre. We are a community. And we are looking for someone who wants to be part of something meaningful.
We are seeking two enthusiastic, reliable and child-safety focused educators to join our team:
Position 1 — Full Time, Permanent — for the right person who is ready to commit to a long-term career with a team that will invest in you equally in return
Position 2 — 6-Month Contract — with genuine possibility of ongoing employment for the right candidate
Both roles are for someone who shows up — for the children, for their colleagues, and for themselves as a professional. Whether you are looking to plant roots or take your next step, we have a place for someone who is passionate, reliable and genuinely committed to child safety and quality practice.
At Bay Road Kindy, the safety, rights and best interests of every child are the paramount consideration in every decision we make. This is embedded in our practice, our policies, our risk assessments and our daily interactions — not just on paper.
In line with the Children (Education and Care Services National Law Application) Amendment Act 2025 (NSW), we are committed to building and maintaining a genuine child-safe culture. Every member of our team is expected to actively contribute to this culture — through their conduct, their communication, their supervision practice and their willingness to speak up.
We are looking for someone who understands that child safety is not a checklist. It is a way of being.
You are someone who:
Is reliable, consistent and dependable — the children and team count on you
Is genuinely passionate about early childhood education and the difference it makes
Understands and actively supports a child-safe culture — including appropriate boundaries, transparent conduct and a speak-up approach to concerns
Engages in critical reflection — not just going through the motions, but genuinely asking why and what's next
Can contribute to project-based and inquiry-led programming — following children's interests with depth and intentionality
Brings strong written and verbal communication to documentation, family communication and team collaboration
Can articulate their personal philosophy and connect it to their everyday practice
Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or actively working towards) — both considered
Early Childhood Teacher qualifications also welcome
Demonstrated knowledge of the EYLF V2.0 and National Quality Standard
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC), Child Protection training and First Aid — or willing to obtain prior to commencement
Experience with or willingness to learn critical reflection, QIP contribution and intentional teaching
Collaborate on the planning, implementation and evaluation of a high-quality educational program
Build genuine, trusting relationships with children, families, educators and management
Contribute to a child-safe environment through active supervision, risk-aware practice and transparent conduct
Engage in critical reflection and documentation that goes beyond surface-level — asking what learning means and where it goes next
Participate in project work and inquiry-based experiences that follow and extend children's thinking
Communicate clearly and warmly with families — written posts, conversations and daily connection
Exceeding rated service with a genuine team culture
2 hours off-the-floor programming time every week
Dedicated daily setup time — so you can be present and prepared
Ongoing professional development and reflective practice support
Staff childcare discounts
Uniform provided
A huge natural outdoor play space with multiple learning environments
A close-knit, experienced and supportive team who genuinely care about each other and the children
10-minute walk from the train station and local shops
A real opportunity to grow your career in a service that takes quality seriously
Bay Road Kindy is committed to child safety. All applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a current Working with Children Check prior to commencement. We follow rigorous child-safe recruitment practices in line with NSW legislation.
