Trainer and Assessor – Melbourne
Hospitality | Carpentry | Painting and Decorating | Solid Plastering | IT | Construction

Australian Polytechnic College (APC) is seeking experienced and committed Trainer and Assessors for our Melbourne campus in the following course areas:

  • Certificate IV in Kitchen Management and Diploma of Hospitality Management

  • Certificate IV in Carpentry

  • Certificate III in Painting and Decorating

  • Certificate III in Solid Plastering

  • Advanced Diploma of Information Technology

  • Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

  • Diploma of Civil Construction Design

  • Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)

The successful applicants will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment services in accordance with APC’s training and assessment strategies, academic standards, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured and effective lessons in accordance with the training and assessment strategy and unit requirements

  • Conduct classroom, workshop, and practical training sessions relevant to the course area

  • Assess student performance and make sound assessment decisions in line with VET requirements

  • Mark assessments and provide clear, relevant, and timely feedback to students

  • Support student progress, participation, and completion of assessments

  • Maintain accurate academic, attendance, assessment, and reporting records

  • Participate in validation, moderation, and quality assurance activities as required

  • Comply with APC policies, VET requirements, and all relevant regulatory standards

Essential Requirements

  • TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

  • Relevant qualification(s) in the course area being delivered

  • Demonstrated VET sector knowledge and experience

  • Current industry currency relevant to the training area

  • Strong understanding of lesson delivery, practical assessment, and assessment marking responsibilities

  • Good organisational, communication, and record-keeping skills

Desirable

  • Experience delivering training within an RTO environment

  • Experience using Moodle or other learning management systems

  • Experience participating in validation, moderation, or compliance activities

  • Strong student support and engagement skills
