Finance Manager

We are seeking a strategic, commercially focused Finance Manager to support MEGT Education and its group of Registered Training Organisations. This role provides strategic and operational financial leadership to support growth, financial performance, commercial decision-making and compliance with organisational, regulatory and funding requirements.
As Finance Manager, you will lead financial analysis across training delivery, funded programs, student enrolments, contract performance, resource allocation, pricing and profitability. You will oversee monthly financial performance reporting, variance analysis, KPI frameworks, budget monitoring and rolling forecasts, while partnering with operational leaders to improve margins, manage costs and enhance business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
As Finance Manager, you will:
Provide financial leadership and business partnering support to RTO leaders, senior management and key internal stakeholders
Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts and financial plans across the Education Division, ensuring alignment with operational activity and financial targets
Develop driver-based forecasting models reflecting key Education performance drivers, including enrolments, completions, funded training activity, trainer utilisation, staffing, delivery costs and contract performance
Prepare monthly management reporting packs, variance analysis, performance commentary and clear financial insights to support data-driven decision-making
Develop and maintain financial models to assess new training programs, tenders, partnerships, delivery models and other growth or improvement initiatives
Conduct ROI, payback and scenario analysis to support decisions and prioritisation of strategic and operational opportunities
Evaluate pricing, cost-to-deliver, margin, volume, funding, risk and profitability assumptions across existing and proposed RTO services, products and contracts
Support strong financial governance through month-end processes, internal controls, reporting checks, data integrity and timely escalation of financial risks or process issues
About You
You will be a commercially astute and highly analytical finance professional who is confident partnering with senior leaders and translating complex financial information into clear, practical business insights. You will bring:
CPA or CA qualification, or equivalent
Experience in finance management, financial analysis or business partnering within a complex, multi-entity or matrix business environment
Experience evaluating, launching or managing products and services, with the ability to translate opportunities into financial and operational plans
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of financial, operational and performance drivers
Advanced analytical capability, including driver-based modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, benefits tracking, ROI and profitability forecasting
Advanced Excel skills and experience building reporting measures or visuals in Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
Ability to validate and reconcile data between ERP, business intelligence and operational systems to ensure reporting accuracy
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and operate confidently with senior leadership
A strategic and operational mindset, strong attention to detail, resilience, problem-solving capability and a commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes
