Whoosh Care is seeking an experienced and confident Team Leader to lead our vibrant Out of School Hours Care service in Surry Hills.

This is not an entry-level leadership position. We are looking for someone with proven experience leading teams, managing daily operations, building positive relationships, and creating a high-quality program where children genuinely love spending their time.

Our Surry Hills service is a well-established 130-place service with:

  • Excellent play spaces

  • Strong support from our Educational Leader and Approved Provider

  • A welcoming community that values and supports its educators

This is a full-time position of approximately 38 hours per week, providing dedicated time for administration, planning, programming and leadership so work doesn't need to follow you home.

About the Role

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operation of the service, ensuring a safe, engaging and high-quality environment for children, families and educators.

You will:

  • Lead, mentor and support a team of educators, including rosters using Deputy

  • Coordinate the daily operation of a 130-place service including supervision plans, guiding the team

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, school staff and the P&C

  • Support compliance with the National Quality Framework

  • Maintain and contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) with support from the Educational Leader. The service has a well established QIP to continue on

  • Support programming that is developed with children and reflects their interests, strengths and ideas

  • Foster a positive, inclusive and child-focused culture

  • Ensure child safety remains central to all practices and decision-making

What We're Looking For

Leadership experience is essential.

You will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience leading teams in OSHC, education or children's services

  • Confidence managing large groups of children and educators

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Experience with rostering, delegation and team coordination

  • Knowledge of My Time, Our Place and the National Quality Framework

  • Experience contributing to Quality Improvement Plans and service compliance

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • A positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach

  • Commitment to child safe practices and children's participation in decision-making

Experience using OWNA and Deputy is highly regarded, although training will be provided.
