Senior Manager, Program Delivery

Work from anywhere in Australia | National Leadership Role | 2-Year Fixed Term Contract

Help build the future VET workforce

At BuildSkills Australia, we lead national initiatives that shape skills and workforce outcomes across the building, construction, property and water industries. As the national Jobs and Skills Council (JSC) for the construction, property and water industries, BuildSkills works across industry, government and the training system to deliver projects with real sector impact.

We are a collaborative, supportive and geographically dispersed national team, and this role can be undertaken from anywhere in Australia.

About the Role

BuildSkills Australia is launching an innovative national program designed to support workforce transition into vocational education and training (VET) careers.

As Senior Manager, Program Delivery, you will lead the successful implementation and growth of this program, overseeing delivery, stakeholder engagement, participant outcomes, compliance and reporting. Reporting to the General Manager, Service Delivery, you will establish the operational framework, build strategic partnerships and recruit, lead and develop a high-performing team of Industry Transition Mentors.

This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up and contribute to solutions that address workforce challenges across Australia's construction industry.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a national workforce transition program, ensuring achievement of contractual obligations, KPIs and participant outcomes

  • Recruit, onboard, lead and develop a team of Industry Transition Mentors, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry stakeholders, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), government agencies and referral partners

  • Monitor program performance, analyse data and provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making and continuous improvement

  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements, program guidelines, quality standards and reporting requirements

  • Grow referral pathways, participant engagement and employer partnerships to maximise program impact

  • Maintain accurate records and deliver timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen service delivery and contribute to future program development and expansion

 What we’re looking for

You’ll thrive with:

  •  Demonstrated experience leading complex programs, services or projects, with accountability for operational delivery, performance outcomes and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including managing geographically dispersed team members.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across industry, government, education and training sectors.

  • Experience working within government-funded, outcome-based or contract-managed programs, including responsibility for KPIs, compliance and reporting.

  • Experience in workforce development, vocational education and training (VET), employment services, apprenticeship and traineeship pathways, career transition programs or related sectors.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting capabilities, with the ability to use data and insights to improve program outcomes.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and drive successful outcomes.

Desirable, although not required:

  • Experience working with RTOs, GTOs, employment service providers or workforce development initiatives.

  • Experience in mentoring, career guidance, transition support or participant-centred service delivery.

  • Understanding of Australia's VET system, workforce planning and skills development landscape.
