Applications are invited for the position of Music Tutor – Voice (Singing) and Choir Conductor at Mt St Michael's College.

Mt St Michael’s College is a Catholic girls’ school of 900 students (Years 5-12) situated in the leafy avenues of Ashgrove, 5 km from the CBD. The College maintains a tradition of academic excellence, extensive co-curricular activities, and student wellbeing programs across the school.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Voice (Singing) Tutor and Choir Conductor to join our Music team commencing Term 3, 2026.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role involves delivering private voice tuition as well as leading and developing the College’s choral program. The initial workload is anticipated to be approximately 9 hours per week, with potential for growth.

The successful candidate will:

• Provide engaging and high-quality vocal tuition to students from beginner to advanced levels

• Develop healthy vocal technique and musical expression in young singers

• Inspire students and foster confidence through performance opportunities

• Lead, rehearse, and conduct College choirs, supporting performances at liturgies, concerts, and community events

• Encourage broad student participation in the College’s choral and Co-Curricular music program

THE SELECTION CRITERIA

Applicants are required to address the following criteria in a separate document (maximum 2 pages):

• Demonstrated vocal ability with experience teaching singing and leading choirs, including preparing students for performances

• Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and the wider community

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
