Matthew Flinders Anglican College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Secondary HPE and Sports Assistant to support the delivery of our dynamic Secondary School sport and physical education programs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about sport, enjoys working with young people, and is looking to build a long-term career in sports administration, coaching, education support or school sport management.

Working alongside experienced teachers, coaches and sports leaders, you will gain valuable hands-on experience across both practical sport delivery and sports administration within a thriving and highly regarded sporting program.

About the Role

As the Secondary HPE and Sports Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the College's HPE and sport programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the delivery of Secondary HPE lessons and sporting activities

  • Preparing, maintaining and managing sporting equipment and resources

  • Supporting school carnivals, competitions, tours and sporting events

  • Assisting with student supervision during lessons, training sessions and events

  • Providing administrative support to the Sports Department, including event planning, communications, record keeping and data management

  • Contributing to the positive culture and success of one of the Sunshine Coast's leading school sporting programs

This role offers a unique blend of practical sport support and sports administration, providing excellent exposure to the many facets of school sport management.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for sport, physical activity and student development

  • Is energetic, proactive and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn

  • Builds positive relationships with students, staff and families

  • Is organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities

  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Possesses sound digital skills and confidence using Microsoft and Google Suite

  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, a Queensland Blue Card and First Aid/CPR qualifications

Previous experience in coaching, sport, recreation, education support or working with young people will be highly regarded. Current study or qualifications in Sport and Recreation, Outdoor Education or a related field will also be viewed favourably but are not essential.

Most importantly, we are seeking someone who is eager to develop their skills, contribute positively to our community and grow their career within the education and sporting sectors.
