About the role
Melbourne City Institute of Education (MCIE) is seeking passionate and experienced Trainers and Assessors to join our team on a casual basis.
We are currently recruiting trainers to deliver programs in:
Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (VETDSS)
Diploma of Mental Health
The Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (VETDSS) will be delivered across our Melbourne CBD campus and partner schools in the Western suburbs, including Sunshine and Sydenham.
The Diploma of Mental Health will be delivered online and can be undertaken remotely on a sessional basis.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
What you'll be doing
Designing and delivering engaging, interactive training sessions.
Conducting competency-based assessments and providing constructive feedback.
Supporting students through one-on-one coaching and mentoring.
Maintaining accurate assessment and compliance documentation.
Reviewing and updating learning and assessment resources to reflect industry best practice.
Working collaboratively with the education and compliance teams to enhance the student experience.
What we're looking for
Applicants must hold the qualification they will be delivering, or a higher-level qualification in the same field, as required under the Standards for RTOs — HLT33021 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or higher) for the Allied Health Assistance program, and/or CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health (or higher) for the Mental Health program.
Experience in Allied Health, Mental Health and/or Community Services is essential.
Minimum 3–5 years of current industry experience.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience delivering vocational training and assessment.
TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent meeting current regulatory requirements).
Demonstrated understanding of competency-based training and assessment and the Australian VET sector.
Experience delivering VETDSS programs will be highly regarded.
Current VIT registration and/or Working with Children Check is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.
Passion for education and a commitment to supporting student success.
