Position: Academic Manager/Centre Manager - Tutoring Centre
An established education organisation with more than 10 years of experience in the Australian education and training sector is seeking an experienced and motivated Academic Manager / Centre Manager to lead the establishment and operation of its Year 4–10 Maths and English tutoring programs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher, academic coordinator, deputy principal, head of department, or education professional looking to take the next step into educational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish and manage the day-to-day operations of the tutoring centre
• Develop and oversee Year 4–10 Maths and English programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum
• Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise tutors and teaching staff
• Conduct student assessments, placement testing, and learning reviews
• Monitor student progress and implement intervention strategies where required
• Build strong relationships with parents and provide regular progress updates
• Drive student enrolments, retention, and business growth initiatives
• Ensure high-quality teaching, learning outcomes, and customer service standards
• Develop educational resources, assessment tools, and learning materials
• Coordinate timetables, class schedules, and tutor allocations
• Promote the centre through community engagement and local networks
Essential Requirements
• Relevant teaching qualification or education-related degree
• Minimum 3 years' experience in teaching, academic coordination, educational leadership, or tutoring management
• Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum, particularly Years 4–10 Maths and English
• Excellent communication, organisational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to motivate students and lead a team of tutors
• Current Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one
Desirable
• Experience in tutoring centres, private education, or learning support services
• Knowledge of NAPLAN preparation and secondary school pathways
• Experience managing educational teams and centre operations
• Curriculum development and assessment design experience
• Marketing, business development, or enrolment management experience
