Arcadia College is seeking a passionate and adaptable Indigenous Liaison Officer / Float Teacher Aide to join our growing Distance Education team based in Varsity Lakes.

Our Distance Education program provides flexible online learning opportunities for students who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. We are committed to creating innovative and supportive educational pathways that promote student engagement, wellbeing and success.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, this role provides both cultural support and flexible learning assistance to students across the Distance Education program. The successful applicant will help strengthen relationships between students, families, community and the College while contributing to a safe, inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.

Working closely with teachers, wellbeing staff, families and students, the Indigenous Liaison Officer / Float Teacher Aide will:

• Support students in virtual classrooms across a range of subject areas.
• Provide one-on-one support through online learning platforms.
• Assist teachers with student engagement, participation and learning support strategies.
• Work flexibly across multiple cohorts, year levels and programs as operational needs require.
• Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and families.
• Help strengthen connections between the College, families and community.
• Assist with student wellbeing initiatives, support plans and engagement strategies.
• Contribute to culturally responsive practices across the College.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
• Provide flexible assistance across the broader Distance Education program as required.
• Promote positive student participation, wellbeing and educational outcomes.
• Support the College's commitment to child safety, inclusion and culturally responsive education.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (Indigenous-Identified Position).
• Experience working with vulnerable, disengaged or at-risk young people.
• Strong technology skills and confidence working within online learning environments.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Current Blue Card.
• Current Driver's Licence.

• Certificate III in Education Support or a related qualification.
• Experience working in Distance Education, alternative education or youth work settings.
• Experience supporting student wellbeing, engagement and participation.
• Understanding of culturally responsive educational practices.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families and community stakeholders.
• Flexible, proactive and adaptable approach to work.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities.
• Commitment to supporting positive educational and wellbeing outcomes for young people.
