The successful candidate will undertake cutting-edge research supporting the transition to electrified transportation, renewable energy integration, and advanced industrial automation. Candidates may focus on one or more of the following topics:
High-performance electric machine design and optimisation
Permanent magnet and magnet-free motor technologies
Battery modelling, diagnostics, and state-of-health estimation
Battery management systems (BMS)
Electric vehicle propulsion systems
Power electronics and motor drives
Digital twins for electrified energy systems
AI and machine learning for condition monitoring
Wide-bandgap semiconductor converters (SiC/GaN)
Renewable energy storage and microgrid applications
Tax-free stipend of $36,000–$37,000 per year
