About the Opportunity

Kidscape Early Learning Centre is looking for a Cook based in Winter Valley, Victoria.

We are currently seeking an amazing Cook contract position and if you have Educator qualifications we can also offer role on the floor to further extend contract beyond. Backed by an exceptional Director, Approved Provider and Operations Manager you will be given every opportunity to learn and grow, facilitating the most professional, caring and positive experience for all children, families and peers.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Weekly ordering from preferred suppliers for fruit, vegetables and groceries.

• Assist with planning nutrionally balanced meals for children.

• Review menus over a seasonal rotational roster in conjunction with Management and centre budgets.

• Communicate with families and educators in relation to special dietary requirements for children's health needs.

• Plan and cook for meals such as: morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack.

• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at a high standard at all times, meeting council health audits.

• Assist in small group experiences with the children and introducing them to the wonderful world of cooking.

About You

• Applicants must hold relevant Food handling certificates or be prepared to obtain immediately

• Current Working with Children Check or prepared to obtain one.

• Previous childcare centre cooking would be advantageous but not necessary.

• Passionate about young children's health and desire to role model healthy cooking options for young children.

• Ability to cater for children with allergies

• Ability to work autonomously

• Bright, friendly, dynamic and energetic.

• Min Cert 3 qualified if looking for Educator position as well

You must also hold:

• Working with Children Check.

• A Senior First Aid Certificate inclusive of CPR Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.

• A passion for working in the Early Childhood industry

• A great work ethic and strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to work positively within a team.

• A highly motivated, flexible and reliable attitude.
