Teaching Artist – National Music Education Residency Program

Expression of Interest (EOI) – South Australia
Adelaide, SA | Contractor (0.4 FTE – 2 days/week)

Musica Viva Australia invites expressions of interest from experienced and collaborative music educators to join our National Music Education Residency Program in South Australia.

In this rewarding role, you will work alongside primary school staff to deliver high-quality music learning and help build sustainable music programs. Through mentoring, classroom demonstration and professional learning, you will support teachers to build confidence and capability in music education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and demonstrate classroom music teaching

  • Mentor teachers and support lesson planning

  • Support sequential music learning across all primary year levels

  • Collaborate with schools to prepare performances

  • Contribute to professional learning for school staff

About You

  • Recent experience in primary music teaching

  • Strong background in music education and program delivery

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work with diverse school communities

Desirable:

  • Orff Schulwerk or Kodály qualifications

  • Experience delivering professional development for adults
