Manager – Housekeepers, Hale School Boarding Houses
Permanent part-time position. Commencing Term 3, 2026.
Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48 hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast. The Hale School Senior Boarding House is located on campus and is a residential facility for boys in Years 8 – 12 who attend Hale School. Brine House is a separate residence for Hale School boys in Year 7.
Reporting to the Head of Boarding, the Manager-Housekeepers will be responsible for the daily supervision, rostering and management of the housekeeping team and cleaning requirements at Hale School. The successful applicant will be expected to adhere to established cleaning protocols and high company standards while also contributing to performing the daily cleaning duties across both boarding facilities. These duties include the cleaning of dorms, rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, toilets and common areas and sorting and distributing laundry.
Work hours are generally weekdays during school term time between 8.30am and 3.00pm with flexibility for additional occasional work during the school holidays.
In this role you will be part of a friendly and hard-working housekeeping team and member of an energetic boarding community. Applicants must have a genuine interest in young people and their welfare.
The successful applicant will have:
Previous experience supervising a small team of employees.
Previous experience in creating and communicating duty rosters with staff.
Ability to maintain accurate duty timesheets for employees.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise responsibilities.
Previous experience in cleaning and general housekeeping duties.
Knowledge of the safe use of chemicals.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability, or willing to learn, to use TEAMS for rostering and timesheets.
Current Working with Children clearance (or to be obtained prior to employment).
Current National Police Clearance (or to be obtained prior to employment).
