About the role
Modern Family Early Learning is seeking an Assistant Director to join our team in Westcourt, QLD. This is a part-time position offering a fantastic opportunity to support the leadership and management of our early learning centre. The Assistant Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare and education services, working closely with our Director to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children and families. You will be instrumental in supporting the operational excellence of our service whilst maintaining our commitment to educational outcomes and child wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
Support the Director in the day-to-day management and operations of the early learning centre
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of educational programs and learning outcomes in accordance with the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) standards
Assist in the recruitment, induction, training and supervision of educators and support staff
Support the development and review of centre policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Liaise with families to ensure effective communication regarding children's progress, centre activities and any concerns
Contribute to the maintenance of a safe, clean and well-organised learning environment that promotes child development and wellbeing
Assist with rostering, staffing schedules and coverage to ensure appropriate ratios are maintained at all times
Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the centre's continuous professional development
Manage administrative tasks including record-keeping, documentation and compliance reporting
Step into the Director role as required during their absence
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification in early childhood education and care (Certificate III or higher in Childcare, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent)
Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain one
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in early childhood education and care services
Demonstrated leadership experience or potential, with the ability to mentor and support other educators
Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard and ACECQA requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, families and children
Strong organisational and administrative capabilities with attention to detail
A genuine passion for early childhood development and commitment to providing quality care and education
Experience with duty of care responsibilities and commitment to child safety and wellbeing
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support a positive workplace culture
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity in childcare is highly desirable
