About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified Educators to join our team on a part-time basis at Growing Tree Early Education Petrie. As an Educator, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care, support and educational experiences for children in our centre. This position offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners and their families. You will work collaboratively with our team to create safe, stimulating and inclusive environments that promote children's learning, development and wellbeing.
What you'll be doing
Planning, preparing and implementing age-appropriate educational activities and learning experiences that support children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development
Providing attentive, responsive care and supervision to ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing of all children in your care
Building positive relationships with children and families, communicating regularly about children's progress, achievements and developmental milestones
Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic learning environment that meets all regulatory requirements and health and safety standards
Observing and assessing children's development and learning, using this information to inform future planning and support individualised learning pathways
Supporting children's independence, self-regulation and social skills through positive guidance and role modelling
Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency in practices, policies and procedures across the centre
Participating in professional development and training opportunities to maintain and enhance your knowledge and skills
Contributing to a welcoming and inclusive centre culture that values and respects cultural diversity
What we're looking for
A relevant early childhood education qualification, such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification
Current Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance or willingness to obtain one
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or commitment to obtaining this within the first three months of employment
Strong knowledge of early childhood development theories and current best practice approaches to early learning and care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to supporting their holistic development
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of and commitment to child safety, safeguarding and mandatory reporting obligations
Previous experience working in an early childhood education and care setting is highly desirable
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
