The Trustee for Lillypilly EEC Unit Trust t/a Lillypily Early Education Centre is looking for two lead educators for a full-time (min 38 hours/week) (Australian PR and Citizen preferred). A Lead Educator at Lillypilly Early Education Centre is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive early childhood curriculum that promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. In this role, the lead educator supervises and mentors a team of teachers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality educational delivery. They are also responsible for monitoring and assessing children's development, maintaining records of their progress, and ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, the Lead Educator acts as a liaison between the centre, parents, and other stakeholders, ensuring open communication and collaboration. This position requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, leadership skills, and a commitment to meeting state regulations and educational standards.

Task & responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Foster a child-centered learning environment, adapting teaching methods to suit each child's strengths, abilities, and needs.
  • Promote and maintain the health, safety, and well-being of children, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and engage with the local community.
  • Ensure compliance with educational laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on children's progress and development.
  • Stay updated with current research and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Manage the learning environment to encourage exploration, creativity, and play-based learning.
  • Guide children in their social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and resilience.
  • Facilitate group activities that encourage cooperation and communication among children.
  • Monitor and assess the individual learning outcomes of each child, adjusting the program as necessary.
  • Create an inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes equality.
  • Ensure that educational materials and equipment are well-maintained and used effectively.
  • Support children in developing self-regulation and problem-solving skills through positive behavior management techniques.

Qualification & experience

  • Minimum Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Minimum 1 years of experience required in Early Childhood education centre or similar facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Ability to develop and implement child-centred programs for holistic development.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to support and guide other educators.
  • Compliance with health and safety standards, including first aid, anaphylaxis, and asthma certifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to adapt learning methods to individual needs.
  • Organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and managing safe learning environments.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
