LabourLens is recruiting on behalf of My First Childcare Company Pty Ltd t/a Berowra Bungalow Early Learning for a passionate and experienced Lead Educator to join their team on a full-time basis, working 38 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the daily activities of the assigned room, planning and implementing engaging educational and recreational programs, supporting children’s learning and development, supervising daily routines, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing guidance and support to other educators. The role requires a strong commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, nurturing and stimulating environment for children, while maintaining positive relationships with families and working collaboratively with the wider education and care team. Task & responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of materials and equipment for children’s educational and recreational activities.
• Prepare, organise and conduct age-appropriate learning, play and recreational activities for children.
• Support and manage children’s behaviour while guiding their social and emotional development.
• Engage and entertain children through activities such as reading, storytelling, games and interactive play.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor recreational activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
• Supervise and support children throughout their daily routines, including meals, rest periods and transitions between activities.
• Supervise and assist with children’s hygiene and personal care requirements in accordance with centre procedures.
• Maintain a safe, positive and supportive environment that encourages children’s participation, learning and development.

Qualification & experience

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in early childhood education and care.
• Previous experience as a Lead Educator, Room Leader or in a similar leadership role will be highly regarded.
• Sound knowledge of early childhood development, educational programming and play-based learning.
• Strong communication, organisational and team leadership skills.
