About the role

As a Early childhood Educator, you will support children’s learning, wellbeing and development in a safe, calm and engaging environment. You will work closely with educators, families and centre management to build strong relationships and help create respectful, purposeful learning spaces.

You will be responsible for:

• Supervise and support children aged 2–5 years in a Montessori learning environment, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and active participation in indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
• Implement Montessori philosophy and practices to encourage children’s independence, confidence, self-directed learning and curiosity.
• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with Montessori principles and the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Develop monthly theme-based curriculum programs that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, language and physical development.
• Observe, assess and document children’s learning, development and progress using Montessori observation methods and educational documentation practices.
• Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and contribute to individual learning plans that support developmental goals and learning outcomes.
• Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, colleagues and management to support effective communication and collaborative practice.
• Contribute to floor books, learning stories and classroom documentation to reflect children’s interests, participation and learning journeys.
• Support daily routines, classroom management and learning environment preparation in accordance with centre policies, health and safety requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with educators to support program planning, daily routines and high-quality early childhood education practices.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds, or is working towards, a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Has minimum one year post qualification experience working with children in an early childhood or childcare setting.
• Has a genuine passion for working with children.
• Communicates warmly, clearly and respectfully.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Is reliable, professional and willing to learn.
• Understands the importance of child safety, supervision and wellbeing.
• Can support children’s independence, confidence and curiosity.
• Holds a valid Working with Children Check or is willing to obtain one.
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
• Has Montessori experience or an interest in Montessori education, which will be highly regarded.
