Task & responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day care for children, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist children with daily activities such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene.

  • Encourage positive social interactions among children to promote teamwork, cooperation, and sharing.
  • Develop individual care plans based on children’s needs, ensuring personalized attention and support.
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being during indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Support children with special needs by providing tailored care or support as required.
  • Assist with basic educational tasks, such as teaching numbers, letters, colors, and shapes.
  • Provide emotional support to children who may be experiencing separation anxiety or other emotional challenges.
  • Work with other child care professionals, including teachers, psychologists, and social workers, to address the needs of children.
  • Provide guidance and discipline using positive reinforcement techniques to manage behavior.
  • Assist in preparing and serving meals, ensuring they meet dietary needs.
  • Keep the child care facility clean and organized, ensuring toys, equipment, and supplies are in good condition.
  • Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and other caregivers to discuss children’s progress and needs.
  • Maintain child care certifications and attend professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices.
  • Encourage physical activity to support children's physical health and fitness.
  • Assist with the transition to school or other care arrangements as children approach the appropriate age.

 


Qualification & experience

Qualification:

  • Certificate III and Higher 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the related field.
  • Strong understanding of Australian brunch cuisine and modern culinary techniques.
  • Ability to lead and work within a team under pressure during peak hours.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Availability to work across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
