Task & responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated Early Childhood Teacher who can teach children, promote their social, physical, emotional, social and intellectual development, and be part of a great team. The key duties include:
- Follow the National Quality Standards and childcare regulations by developing and delivering a curriculum based on our service philosophies.
- Assist in planning and structuring educational and recreational activities that use equipment and materials to support children’s learning and development.
- Assist in developing teaching goals for the service and educators.
- Deliver educational activities and experiences that develop children’s confidence, understanding, motor and social skills.
- Assist children who have additional needs.
- Assist children in developing their language by participating in individual and group activities such as reading, singing, role playing storytelling, and informal discussions.
- Ensure that all children can participate in different activities and experiences.
- Identity children’s emotional, ill health, welfare, nutritional, safety, and other disability concerns that may impede children’s progress through direct observation and progress evaluation.
- Support children through daily routines, including meals, rest periods, and transitions.
- Develop and build a strong relationship with children and discuss their progress with parents and co-workers.
- Meet with parents, co-workers, and networking agencies to facilitate children’s progress and the delivery of a quality service.
- Be a positive leader and provide supervision and support to co-workers and students on placement.
- Ensure the learning environment is kept clean, organised, safe and hygienic.
- Attend to all Quality Improvement Plan weekly tasks.
- Assist in the administrative tasks required to ensure that the standards are being met.

Qualification & experience
- A Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Teaching (or higher)
- 1+ years of full time experience as an Early Childhood Teacher (long day care setting)

- Do you have a minimum of 1 year full time experience as an Early Childhood Teacher (long day care setting)?
- Do you have a current First Aid certificate?
- Do you have sound written and verbal communication skills?
- Do you have a clear understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework?
- Do you have good knowledge of the rules and regulations for children's services?
- Are you willing to mentor colleagues and bring new and bright ideas into our service?
- Are you willing to undertake professional development and be part of a rotating roster?
Licenses/Certification needed
- Relevant Graduate Diploma qualification or higher
- First Aid certificate
- Working with Children Check (NSW)
