Task & responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement educational programs and learning experiences in indoor and outdoor environments that support children's development and school readiness.
• Provide a variety of play-based learning activities designed to develop motor skills, social interaction, confidence, creativity and independence.
• Promote language and communication development through storytelling, music, role play, rhymes, conversations and group learning experiences.
• Observe, assess and document children's development, learning outcomes and wellbeing, identifying any additional support needs where appropriate.
• Monitor children's health, safety, nutrition and welfare, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Maintain developmental records and prepare learning observations and progress reports.
• Build positive relationships with families and discuss children's progress, achievements and developmental goals.
• Attend parent meetings, team meetings, professional development activities and centre events.
• Participate in family engagement and community-based programs that support children's learning and wellbeing.
• Mentor and support student educators and trainees undertaking practical placements.

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA approved equivalent qualification) or Higher qualification in related field.
• Current Teacher Registration
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
• Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience working with children aged 0-6 years in an early learning environment.
