The Trustee for THE PADDINGTON BEAR TRUST (PADDINGTON BEAR PTY LTD), T/as LITTLE PADDINGTON CHILDCARE CENTRE is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and experienced Child Care Worker to join our team on a full-time basis. 

As a Child Care Worker, you will support the delivery of quality early childhood education and care programs while ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of children in our care. Working closely with educators and families, you will contribute to a positive learning environment that promotes children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Task & responsibilities

• Assist in preparing educational and recreational materials, equipment, and learning environments.
• Prepare and conduct age-appropriate activities that support children's development and learning.
• Engage children in play-based learning experiences, storytelling, reading, music, and games.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
• Support and guide children's social development and positive behaviour.
• Monitor and assist with children's daily routines, including meals, rest periods, toileting, and transitions.
• Promote and supervise children's personal hygiene and healthy practices.
• Observe and report on children's participation, wellbeing, and developmental progress.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in accordance with centre policies.
• Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and colleagues.
• Comply with all relevant childcare regulations, child safety requirements, and workplace health and safety standards.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher qualification 
• Minimum 2 years of experience in same position or related field 
• Valid Working with Children Check
• Previous experience in a childcare setting preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
