As a Lead Educator you will a play a crucial role in guiding and supporting children's learning and development. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating curriculum experiences that foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. As a lead educator you will work closely with children, families, and colleagues to create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that aligns with our centre philosophy. You will mentor and support other educators, ensuring high-quality care and education aligned with curriculum frameworks like the EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework) Practices, Principals and National Quality Standard (NQS). Your role also involves documentation, assessment, and reflective practices to enhance learning outcomes while upholding ethical and professional standards.

The Village Creative is looking for several Lead Educators to join our team at two different centres in Sydney:

- Brookvale Centre: 82 Old Pittwater Rd, Brookvale NSW 2100

- Belrose Centre: 1/50 Glen St, Belrose NSW 2085

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare materials, resources and equipment for children's educational, creative and recreational activities. 

Plan and conduct age-appropriate learning experiences and play-based activities that support children's cognitive, emotional, physical and social development. 

Assist children to develop positive social skills, confidence, independence and appropriate behaviours. 

Guide children's behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies and centre policies. 

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, excursions, meal times and daily routines. 

Read stories, facilitate games, songs, creative activities and group experiences to encourage engagement and learning. 

Observe children's wellbeing, development and participation and contribute to developmental records and observations. 

Ensure children's health, safety, hygiene and wellbeing are maintained at all times. 

Support children's personal care requirements, including hygiene, meal supervision and routine transitions throughout the day. 

Collaborate with families regarding children's development, wellbeing and daily experiences. 

Assist with maintaining a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment. 

Support and mentor junior educators and students on placement. 

Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations, National Quality Standard and centre policies.


Qualification & experience

Essential Requirements

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent 

Current Working with Children Check. 

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or able to obtain) 

Minimum one year of relevant experience working in an early childhood education and care environment. 

Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS). 

Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
